This paper is a draft agreement between CrossRef, as represented by Ed Pentz, and the Open Library Society, as represented by Thomas Krichel.
The agreement concern the building of an author registration system along the lines discussed in the Contributor Id proposal to the CrossRef board and the request for proposals: innovative uses of CrossRef metadata” as circulated by Amy Brand to the LibLicence Mailing list on 2007–06–13.
An prototype system will be built by the society at http://whoami.openlib.org. This service will be publicly available, but it will make clear that the service will create on record that will be processed further. The prototype is for interal use only. This
The name of the running service will make no reference to either the society or to CrossRef or the society. Instead, it will be top-level domain that trye
