5E1. Definition

Accompanying material is material issued with, and intended to be used with, the bibliographical resource being catalogued. It is often, but not always, in a different physical form. Examples include: a slide set with an accompanying book, a book with an accompanying atlas, a filmstrip with an accompanying sound recording.

5E2.

Give the number of physical units and the name of any significant accompanying material. Use the terms listed in rule 5B when possible.
If the accompanying material is minor, either describe it in a note (see 7B10) or ignore it.
